At Gillan House Surgery we have a very active Patient Participation Group (abbreviated to PPG). The purpose of a PPG is to help a Surgery deliver the best possible service and by providing a valuable means of communication between the Surgery and its patients. At Gillan House we have adopted a Mission Statement which explains our aims and how we go about achieving them. Please click here to read our Mission Statement.
We are proud to say that our PPG has been in existence since 2011, long before it was made a contractual requirement by the NHS. We meet quarterly at Gillan House (normally on a Friday lunchtime) and the Surgery’s GPs, Practice Manager, and some of the Reception staff also attend meetings. We discuss a wide range of issues and the Minutes of our last meeting can be found Here Following each meeting our Surgery issues a Newsletter which contains information about many of the subjects we discuss. Our PPG is made up of patients of all ages and coming from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. Meetings are friendly and informal and usually last about one hour or a little longer. Refreshments are always available. If you would like to know more about our PPG or think you may be interested in joining us, then please speak to one of our Receptionists.
